Dear Parents,

We are enjoying our Friday morning computer class.  Mrs. Chase is helping us learn how to type using "Kid's Keys". This week we will start to type our first story on the computer. Next week we will learn how to illustrate our story. We are also working with Story Kit on the IPADs during RTi on Fridays.

We are enjoying writing in Writer's Workshop. We are learning how to break down our topics and just concentrate on writing about "one small moment or small part of that topic". We will be learning how to become better at rereading and editing our writing. We are also going to start doing letter writing and will have pen pals at another school.

In math, we will continue working on addition and subtraction word problems. Students are learning about Place Value and double digit addition. This week we are finishing our chapter about Finding, Organizing and Using Data. We are sorting and making data charts and graphs.

This Saturday, February 11th is the James Clark Winter Fest. I hope that you will come out to the Penny Carnival and the Ziti Supper. I look forward to seeing you there!
