Library Policies
Students visit the library once a week with their class during the scheduled library time. Books and/or magazines are borrowed for a one week period and are returned on the classroom's library day. Students may renew a book if they have not had time to finish it or need the book for a classroom report/project.
Checkout limits by grade:
Kindergarten: 1 book
1st Grade: 2 books
2nd, 3rd, 4th Grades: 3 books
*Students are limited to one (1) magazine per checkout
Late Fees/Replacement Charges: The library does not charge late fees. However, if a book/magazine is damaged or lost, you will be asked to pay the replacement cost, which will be shown on the overdue notice sent home with your child. If you should find a lost book/magazine after paying for it, and it is in good condition, please return it to the library and your money will be refunded.
Overdue Notices: Notices are printed and sent home every Friday ~ please check your child's folder or backpack. If a book/magazine is three weeks or more overdue, a notice will be sent home and the student's library privileges are suspended until it is returned or the replacement cost is paid.

Library Volunteers & Programs
Volunteers: Parents and Grandparents are welcome to volunteer in our library. At the start of the school year, volunteer forms will be sent home with the students. Just fill out the form and return it to Mrs. Chase in the Library. All volunteers will be required to complete a CORI background check form and a Volunteer Orientation program.
Birthday Book Program: The Birthday Book Program is an opportunity for you to donate a book to the James Clark Library while making your child feel special about books and literacy. You may view the order form, that contains more information, or the Birthday Book List, by clicking below.
