Singing: folksongs of various cultures, poems, story songs, spirituals, patriotic and holiday songs, often using instruments or body percussion.
Playing Instruments: Unpitched percussion instruments such as maracas, hand drums, tambourines; and pitched instruments such as xylophones, metallophones and glockenspiels.
Listening: Various styles, timbres, and cultures.
Movement: Singing games, folk dancing.
Composing: Simple rhythms and melodies.
Improvisation: Through movement and on instruments.
