Our Classroom

a teal diamondThe students of Room 5 have been building a classroom community by participating in a morning meeting every morning.  During the meeting, they greet each other and share about themselves twice a week.

Reading

a teal diamondEvery week we read a new story.  Several stories focus on one theme.  We work on vocabulary, spelling words, phonics, and comprehension skills throughout the week.  I also meet with small groups reading books on their levels several times a week.  D.E.A.R. time is another part of reading, which stands for Drop Everything And Read.
