Agawam Public Schools

Drama Club commences in the fall. All interested students in grades seven and eight may audition for a part in the spring play. Drama club performances take place during the school day for students and teachers, and in the evening for parents and teachers.

The Non-User's Club was formed to give recognition to those students willing to take a stand against the use of alcohol and other drugs. Club activities include the Video-extravaganza and various planned activities.

Ski Club includes weekly trips to a local ski area beginning after the holiday vacation. Ski club is open to seventh and eighth grade students. Cost varies from year to year. Rental equipment and ski instruction are available. Announcements are made at school approximately mid-November regarding sign-ups.

The Writers Club is open to any interested seventh or eighth grade student who enjoys writing shor stories or poems. Each year the club publishes a journal of student writings as well as a monthly newspaper.

An Intramural Sports program is offered at the junior high school. Through the use of our daily announcements, students will receive information regarding sign-ups for this program. Soccer is offered during the fall and softball is in the spring. All seventh and eighth grade students are welcome to participate.

Millionaire Readers Club: The goal for every junior high school students is to read at least 1,000,000 words per year. Students will track their reading, submit forms to verify their reading, and receive awards as they progress towards this milestone. Millionaire readers will receive additional rewards once they meet and surpass this goal.

Principal's Forum: Students will have the opportunity to meet with Mr.Robbins and Mr. Donovan to share their insights into school and discuss issues affecting them. This group will meet periodically throughout the year and is open to anyone interested in attending.
