ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET

The School Committee will develop an annual operating budget to provide financial support for the public schools and their programs.

The budget is a controlled spending plan. It shall contain:

1. A summary of the proposed expenditure, previous year’s budget and explanations of significant increases or decreases from the previous budget.

2. An estimate of receipts.

3. Other data the Committee feels pertinent.

Following approval by the School Committee, the budget will be presented to the Mayor.

The Superintendent or delegate is authorized to make expenditures and commitments within the limits of budget appropriations.
