SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEMBER COMPENSATION AND EXPENSES

School Committee members at large shall receive compensation for their services as follows:

$1500 annually. (The Chairperson (Mayor) does not receive any compensation.) Compensation for members shall be paid monthly. Moreover, School Committee Members are eligible for longevity payments equal to the City’s current schedule of longevity payments. Finally, upon submitting vouchers and supporting bills for expenses incurred in carrying out specific services previously authorized by the Committee, members may be reimbursed from school funds. Reimbursable expenses may include the cost of attendance at conferences of School Board Associations and other professional meetings or visitations when such attendance and expense has had prior School Committee approval.
