NOTIFICATION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETINGS

The times and places of all regular meetings of the School Committee will be filed with the City Clerk not later than January 15 of each year.

Meeting notices will be posted at the City Hall in accordance with the law, which requires such notification and posting at least 48 hours in advance of any regular or special meeting. The only exception permitted is in case of emergency, which the law defines as “a sudden, generally unexpected occurrence or set of circumstances demanding immediate action.” In event of an emergency meeting, a copy of the minutes will be filed with the City Clerk within 72 hours.

Notice of special meetings will be given in writing to each School Committee member not less than 48 hours in advance.

Notice of meetings also will be sent to the news media.
