“As the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, it gives me great pleasure to post our PreK – 12 curricula on the Agawam Public Schools web site for parents and the public to view. These curricula were developed using the Massachusetts State Frameworks as a guide. Principals, curriculum specialists, and staff worked diligently to develop curricula that align with the frameworks as well as with the individual district and student needs. Curricula are a work in progress, which means that they are constantly evolving and in need of periodic updates to strengthen and keep them current. As a school district, we pledge to keep our curricula current and able to service the needs of all students. A school district is only as strong as the curricula it develops. Therefore, we take pride in the fact that many stakeholders are involved in the development of these documents, which are based on the Massachusetts Learning Standards with specific rubrics to ensure student knowledge and understanding.”
